Campus Community

The WKU campus has everything you would expect of a major university, yet it’s all on a
scale that makes you feel at home. The vast majority of students pursue their studies on the
pedestrian-friendly campus, which houses administrative and academic offices, libraries,
student services, 15 on-campus residence halls, and athletic facilities.

Life on campus

Students who live on campus have a short walk to class, wireless internet, and enjoy easy access to 27 dining locations (including two coffee shops), The Bate Shop (where you can buy groceries and personal items), a hair and tanning salon, and the Preston Center (WKU’s student recreation facility). WKU buses transport students to local shopping and restaurants, and the Bowling Green City buses are also useful for on-campus students. When you study at WKU, you have access to all these facilities and much more.

Staying fit

Whether it’s tailgating (barbecuing) before a football game or going to Diddle Arena for a basketball game, WKU students love NCAA sports. All students attend sporting events on campus free of charge! But if you’d rather play than watch, WKU has plenty of opportunity for you to get involved in sports ranging from basketball to soccer to lacrosse. And if you want to stay fit, all WKU students have free membership at the Preston Center, our state-of-the-art health and fitness complex.

Men’s sports: baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, indoor and outdoor track, swimming, and tennis.

Women’s sports: basketball, crosscountry, golf, indoor and outdoor track, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, and volleyball.

Get involved

Our students never have a dull moment on ‘the hill’. You have the chance to join over 320 clubs and organizations, including honor societies, the International Club, religious organizations, social sororities and fraternities, academic organizations, and special interest groups.
